Crappy Post

-There's a rumble in my tummy. I'm hungry. I really miss our regular cook, Tess. She made stellar dishes. Hopefully, she gets back here soon because I really can't go another night eating a few potatoes and a few cubes of beef. Haha. No offense to replacement-cook, but I really ain't digging it.

-I just discovered that besides being an M.E. grad, team captain of the basketball team and the greatest thing since Wendy's Big Classic Triple with Cheese, Chris Tiu is also a blogger! Whodathunk?

-I'm really excited for Hellboy 2: The Golden Army. I'm more excited for it than I am for The Dark Knight (but that maybe due to my Marvel bias). Honestly, the trailer for Hellboy looks bad ass with all those weird and creepy crawlies. Makes you wonder what really goes on Guillermo Del Toro's head. Dude must have some silly conversations with the producers: "The bad guy will have a frisbee for a head and will have a face like a clock. Also, he will have cockroach wings and will sing "Stayin' Alive" for the duration of the movie. Yes, he's the main villain. There's also the dancing chorus line of midgets. No, I'm not trying to sneak in any hobbits! I'll have you know they haven't paid me yet to plug the movie."

-SECRET INVASION!

-My blog is woefully boring.

-Damn it!

-I need more readers!

-C'mon, the people who already read my blog, all 5.5 of you (kidding Patrick), pimp my blog! Get more people to read it!

-Damn it, this blog sucks.

-Make Mine Jeri is failing.

-AAAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

-(I'm still hungry.)

-I gotta think of something for my next entry.

Alas!

It has to be said. This blog sucks. My one and only true blog was a masterpiece. It combined real emo moments with the most amazing mundane events. It had the power to bring in readers from all over my contacts page. And I deleted it. Argh! "What makes him a man is if in the midst of that battle he does not lose himself." Fictional Coach Eric Taylor, I have failed you! Alas, I cannot undo the past. I vow that this blog will reach the dizzying and confusing heights my old blog reached! Lists, Hall of Fames, Power Rangers Awards, my old blog was down right spectacular! But this new blog will be even better. I swear on the head of my first born son (whenever he might decide to show up) that I will make this blog better than the original! Make Mine Jeri!

Choose or Die

Fork in the road. Left or right? Right or left?

What is the right choice? The right choice is just, not, the left choice. That's all it is. So how do we know if we made the right choice? Simple. When faced with two options, pick the third. Don't make the right choice. Make your choice.

I Would.

I would keep you company. I'd like that. I would. Really, I would. It would be no trouble at all. All you have to do is say so...

Weekend Post

Friday, July 4, 2008.

Stat test day. Fun test. Not hard at all. The cancer question confused me though haha. Got home at around...10. Did my marketing homework. Lasted for 4 hours because in between, the mahjong-based game here on the computer had me completely in its jaws, chewing away at every last bit of my dignity. Damn 'Fortress' map. Anyway, I finally turned in at around 2 and fell asleep at 230.

Saturday, July 5, 2008.

Whilst in Marivic's car at the paseo de roxas/buendia intersection, the greatest song in the world, the song that (sorry Madonna) should and very possibly could save the world, "When I Grow Up" played on the radio. The awesomeness of any band/group/performer/singer/anyone-who-wasn't-on-American-Idol-and-didn't-leave-with-a-contract can always be judged by the moral values it tries to impart on the listeners. I mean, the lyrics (assuming that they themselves wrote them) can be a window into a person's soul. That's why I can safely say that The Pussycat Dolls are AMAZING. "Boobies" indeed. Don't think they were talking about Daniel "Boobie" Gibson here. The fact that I heard it for the second week in a row, in the same exact car on the same exact day must be alluding to the fact that it was an act of god. The god of all things terrible.

Anyway, after surviving "Boobies" (the real title of the song), I had Marketing. I like Marketing, really, I do. I just can't get past it being a Saturday class. I can't study for it. It's a saturday class. Argh. My teacher's really cool though (hi sir, if you're reading).

Then we went and had lunch at my lola's because it was my tito's bday. The food was of course great. The dessert was too (how I love you my banana cream pie). But the real story of that lunch is that I went in a poor boy and came out a Spartan. Yes, I HAVE HALO. HALO. H. A. L. O. HALO!!!! THREE! HALO 3! YAY. YAAAAAY!!!!! I proceeded to play with it for the rest of the afternoon until we had to leave for Chub's party.

Chub, my cousin from the states, will be turning 13 on wednesday, the 9th. He celebrated it though on Saturday, in Shakey's in Maga. We arrived late and the rest of my extended family were there na. I only had mojoes because I wasn't feeling the chicken and pizza. Also, blah blah blah blah.

Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. Blah! You know why? BECAUSE HALO 3!!!!! Even with my head throbbing in pain after only having 3 and half hours of sleep the night before, I couldn't be stopped from donning Master Chief's helmet and kicking Brute and Flood ass. That game is a bitch to play on Heroic though. Crap. Legendary must...wait for it...Legendary. Daaamn.

1-0 baby. Good job Ateneo. That game was freaking outstanding. Here are the highlights of the Ateneo win:

-We broke the jinx. Papa used to be the malas of the Ateneo Blue Eagles but we beat them tonight with Pops in attendance. It took mucho convincing from me, mama, Mikey an d Marina, but we got him to go. He, Tito Boy and Tito Randy were all there so it was a sight to see. Sayang, wala lang si Tito Gelo. Oh well.

-Jobe Nkemakolam (whose name I looked up because I didn't know how to spell it, sorry Jobe) is AMAZING. He was the best player out there today when it came to standing up to Team Thug. Dude was straight up street out there. He fouled out but he threw some well-placed bows (Right Rico?), scored on some strong post moves and locked down the paint. Great game from the man I will know call Kung Fu Panda. There is no charge for awesomeness. Indeed.

-Boulder Baldos, Nonoy and Vince Burke. Nice job protecting the paint boys. Fouls aside, you guys played very well. Better luck next time Justin Chua, maybe against NU?

-Rabeh Al Hussaini, what can I say? He blew that dunk and air-balled that ill-advised jumper. But he was channeling his inner Kareem out there with those sweeping hooks. Good lookin' out big fella. Keep this up and you might just make it three-for-three for Ateneo centers A. V. (after Villanueva) who brought their games to a whole 'nother level in their last years. Just don't miss anymore dunks okay?

-The backcourt play of all the Ateneo small men. Brilliant boys, simply brilliant. La Salle press what?

-Chris Tiu. Let's just say, Hanes should only have one endorser after this one. Chris, you're to Ateneo what JJ Redick was to Duke. And that's a good thing! Believe me, I love JJ. He was on fire tonight and his points had a Larry-like qualit to them as my father pointed out. Silent scorer, big boom maker. If that made any sense.

-Yuri Escueta and Eric Salamat. The aforementioned offense was great (orchestrating, dictating the tempo, etc.) but the defense was Joe D and Isaiah like. Clutch city? Hell yeah.

-Ryan Buenafe, welcome to the Ateneo.

-La Salle...well... :) I won't say anything na lang so that I don't jinx it.

Anyway, it was a great weekend all things considered. Halo 3, great food, easy test and an Ateneo win over La Salle, what else can you ask for?

Until You

Let's just take our time
There's nothing else to do
What better way to spend the night
Than wasting it with you
The moon has won the war
The daylight waits to end
Stay here by my side
We'll watch the struggle start again

chorus
I need you now and forever
So stay right here with me
Don't ever leave
Love was kept from me like a secret
And I swore that I was through
Until you, until you

The city settles down
I watch you as you sleep
There's a silent celebration for
Every breath you breathe
Now this all makes sense
With you as company
I left all I knew and found
A better part of me, yeah

chorus

The time it took to find you
I would
Wait again my baby
The feelings that
I feel with you now, yeah

chorus

until you until you until you

- Dave Barnes, "Until You"

Just another song in the day of the life...I have a ton of these already. Wish they didn't mean so much to me.

Heroic Post

Lately it seems that I'm on the sucker-punch end of the spectrum. I can't explain it but it kinda feels like I'm slowly being pushed towards the edge, a ledge, whatever and I'm not doing anything about it. No, I'm not being emo. I'm just making an observation. It's like everyone around me is pushing, trying to get me to break. Well I'm not gonna snap. No way. I'm done with that stuff. I'm just gonna push back.

Also, I'd like to take this time to pimp the greatest cartoon since JLU, The Spectacular Spider-Man. I just finished watching the first season and I am generally floored. L.O.L.-able moments are a dime a dozen, the fight scenes are the best I've seen in a superhero cartoon and the character moments are unexpected yet fulfilling. Best characters there are Peter, MJ, Flash, Shocker, Jameson and Green Goblin. All of the episodes are my favorite. Best moment has to be "Face it tiger..." Please, do yourself a favor and watch this show. It's animated story-telling at its finest.

And if you're wondering why these two topics have been thrown together, Spidey's my hero. Corny as it sounds, you can learn a lot from Web-Head. Thanks Spidey.

Suppliment Post

Wonderful news everyone! I have a computer again! For the past nearly 2 weeks I have been without a computer. We've been relying on my mom's laptop but when I tried to post using it, it friggin' crashed on me. Mom would kill me if her laptop was destroyed. This explains why I haven't posted since that very heartfelt post of mine the other week.

Anyway, I'm pretty busy right now. I promise to write again the moment my schedule clears. TTFK!

Why oh you...

I'm in love with you. I so am.
If only you could read this. If only you could hear me say this to you, face to face.
I didn't want it to be like this, me confessing to a keyboard. These gentle strokes were meant for you and not y-o-u. My eyes are squinting from the glare of the monitor and not from the shine of your smile. You can't hear me choke on my words, can't hear the mistakes my voice makes because my heart and brain can't agree upon what to say to you.
Can't you just figure it out? I stare at you 2.5 seconds longer than I do her. My "smiley" is not pretend, it's doing for me what my real face wishes it could do in front of you. It takes me approximately 3 minutes longer to send you a text message because I'm figuring out how to turn my feelings and thoughts into simple words. When I know that I'm gonna see you, my feet can't outrace my beating heart. When I do see you, time can't keep up with my heart.
Once, you said my name. It was so pedestrian and unexpected. I stood up to leave and you called out to let me know that I had left my pen. In that instant, I didn't just get my pen back, I got something more.
I know you'll never know how I really feel. This song is not new to me, I already know how it goes, how it ends. This isn't a tale of two lovers. This is just the story of me and you. Just like the others before you, you'll find out how I feel, but not how I love. I think it gets lost in the noise. It's okay, though. Perfect love stays perfect in a dream because well, it's just a dream. My dream. Unassailable and unattainable. There's no one else in it but you and I. Soon after, I'll file it away, and you'll be just another girl that I fell in love with who didn't catch me. It doesn't mean I stopped loving you. It just means that it wasn't meant to be. Again.
Unlike many love stories out there, mine takes longer to tell. Maybe, there'll be a plot twist before it ends and it's actually you I'll end up with. Maybe you'll realize tomorrow that I'm the one and then I can let you read this. For now, we'll let the night run its course. I'll fall asleep, you will too. You'll dream. And I'll dream. Of y-o-u.
