A Few Things...(Also: Spoiler Alert!)

1. So I picked up Halo: Reach over the weekend...AND IT IS EFFING AWESOME. I've only played it once and put it down after I finished the fourth level but I've seen enough of it to know it's going to go down as one of the greatest Xbox 360 games ever, let alone the best of the Halo franchise. I love how all the weapons are more effective than they were in Halo 3, how the Elites are so hard to properly take down and the gameplay is just sharper than it's ever been. Suffice it to say, the game is as impressive and awesome as they said it would be. I peeked a little at the 5th mission, and if the opening cinematic is any indication, I'm in for an all-out battle with the Covenant on Reach's harsh terrain. Can't wait.

2. On the same day I picked up Halo: Reach, I also got myself a copy of the second part of The Strain Trilogy, The Fall by authors Guillermo Del Toro and Chuck Hogan. The paperback edition is only some three hundred pages so I'm trying not to rush through it (which I am failing to do since despite my busy schedule, I'm more than halfway through). Despite the fact that, since it's the middle book and you got the exposition and set-up in the first, so with this one, it immediately jumps into the action, I'm finding it moving a little slow. I love the book and all, don't get me wrong, and some of the developments have been interesting, explosive and down right sadistic so I think I'll talk about it all after I finish the entire thing.

3. Got my NBI clearance today (Monday, September 20, 2010) and even if it seemed like a million miles away (N.B. Monumento is VERY FAR from Makati), the process of getting myself cleared was pretty easy. Same with getting my police clearance and cedula. Snaps for the Philippine government!

4. I still have a lot of requirements to finish so I hope I didn't jinx it with that last one haha. *Knocks on wood*

5. Allow me, for one moment, to pour out my feelings.

I hate how, despite understanding that it's okay to be single and that I have tons of friends who love me (or at least like me a lot...or well, tolerate me) blah blah blah, I still feel alone and well, lonely. Like, just an hour ago when I desperately just wanted to talk to someone and I realized I couldn't, (and more importantly in this case, shouldn't), I just felt defeated and lost. It's a crap feeling I go through every now and then and it never fails to bring me down. So there.

6. Tomorrow, I continue my quest to accomplish all of my pre-employment requirements. Here's to that.

7. Castle, Supernatural, Smallville, Glee and whole mess of shows start this week. What bad timing I have, to finally get a job when all my favorite television shows begin their new seasons. Haha.

Okay, so that's it for now. Hope this is a good week for everyone. Toodles!

About TRANSFORMERS 2: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN

Optimus Prime made the whole movie for me. Every scene he was in rocked. He was so heroic and bad ass and awesome and caring and...prime. Hehe. Loved it. Peter Cullen has to win something for his work on Prime. His voice really is the key to Prime.

"LET'S ROLL."

"I'LL TAKE YOU ALL ON!"

Love it.

References to the cartoons/comics and new Transformers featured in the film:

Space Bridge - To casual moviegoers, they might say that this was a cheap plot device, but real fans know.

Jetfire being a 'Con before switching side over to the Autobots

Wheelie! My god. He actually made it into the movies before so many other Transformers! He beat out Hot Rod, Ultra Magnus, the Aerialbots, the Technobots, the Protectobots, Hound, Prowl, Sunstreaker, Blurr, Springer, Kup, Mirage, Cliffjumper, the Dinobots, Omega Supreme, Metroplex, Fortress Maximus...and those are only the Autobots I can remember right now! I haven't even mentioned the Decepticons! Geez Michael Bay.

SOUNDWAVE! Voiced by Frank Welker no less! Awesome. Loved that Frenzy and Lazerbeak(?) were his orbital drops. Soundwave ladies and gents. Need him for movie three.

Megatron beating on Starscream was priceless. They should include the more backstabbing aspects of Starscream's character in the third movie too.

Did anyone see the little microscope Decepticon? Perceptor perhaps? Haha! Though he was a 'Con in the movie, loved the fact that Bay recognized the fact that there was a microscope Transformer already in the lore.

DEVASTATOR. He went down like a punk and I didn't hear a "Constructicons, merge for the kill!" from Megs to introduce him...but hot damn. Now I know why Kup was so scared when he saw him in the animated movie.

Jolt didn't do shit. The hell?

Arcee was wasted. Damn it. She should've replaced the Twins as Sam and Bumblebee's back-up.

Sideswipe's intro was cool. Ironhide had a few lines and Ratchet was there, but still, they coulda used them more.

Oh and of course, THE MATRIX. Dear lord. They even had that little like, "heaven" thing (yes, that's really a part of Transformers lore). Bay shoulda played "The Touch" though. If he's saving it for movie three...well, one can hope.

So yeah. All in all, I loved this movie. Yes, there was little characterization for most of the Robots but hot damn, Optimus was so bad ass, he totally makes up for it. Thank you Peter Cullen.

WAIT

WHAT?????

THIS IS ACTUALLY GOING TO BE IN THE MOVIE????

Hmmm...it's not that bad actually. They should get rid of the rapping though.

If they're going to include this, I hope they only play it during the credits.

Please please let the original version, even if it's just the intro, be featured during the actual movie.

"You've got the touch! You've got the power!" -- That still sends me into happy land. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

TRANSFORMERS 2: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN

Holy Omega Supreme!

That is sick!

Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen's first poster has gotten me all tingly inside. I cannot wait for this movie.

I really can't tell who that is on the poster but the shape of the head looks like that of the Decepticon symbol so he's probably a bad dude. Well the "revenge" part points a very big finger at "bad guy" haha. So this dude is either the demonic Fallen, Megatron/Galvatron. Or maybe it's Jazz seeking revenge on everybody for being the only Autobot to die in the first movie haha. Either way, this looks insanely awesome. And am I the only one who thinks all signs (well, at this point) are pointing to Unicron in movie 3? In the comics, the Fallen was allied with the big bad. In the animated movie, Megatron came back as Galvatron thanks to Unicron's machinations. Am I reading the signs right or am I just really grasping at straws? Unicron, on screen, would be the second greatest thing ever. The greatest thing? If Hot Rod kicks his ass by lighting our darkest hour by releasing the power of the matrix and turning into Rodimus Prime in the process. Haha. Oh well. June 26 can't get here soon enough.
